Cessna 150 fuselage, CNC machined aircraft-grade aluminum
210 x 48 x 56 inches
Special thanks to the Volland Foundation and the Wabaunsee County Historical Society & Museum for providing access to 3D scan a collection of paleolithic stone tools originating from sites along the creeks of Wabaunsee County, Kansas.
Spanning 10,000 years of human presence in the Flint Hills region, these tools evidence a technology rooted in the geometries of stone and sky, bearing witness to the indigenous stewards of an ancestral prairie.
Installation views at the Charlotte Street Foundation, Kansas City, MO for Digital Prairie, an exhibition featuring Colette & Jeff Bangart, Raven Chacon, Poppy DeltaDawn, Steve Gurysh, Michael Jones McKean, and Jeanine Oleson.
